__________________________________________________________________________ Job Summary The Girl Experience Manager, with a focus on travel, is responsible for developing and implementing a wide variety of programming and travel opportunities with the goal of strategically positioning Girl Scouts as the preeminent leadership organization for girls.
The Girl Experience Manager- Travel plans and implements programs, travel opportunities, and large events highlighting the Girl Scout Leadership Experience to support the needs of current members and to recruit new members to the organization.
The Girl Experience Manager works collaboratively within the Property and Program department and with other departments to ensure achievement of the goals of the Girl Scouts of NYPENN Pathways.
Essential Duties and
Responsibilities:
Plan and implement year-round innovative opportunities and activities supporting youth development in the main pillar areas of Travel.
Ensure that related program components are consistent with national curricula and content meets the needs and interests of current and prospective youth participants.
Plan and implement enriching domestic and/or international travel experiences Collaborate with program and camps departments on creation of innovative programs and activities supporting youth development in additional pillar areas of Arts, Business/Entrepreneurship, and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math).
Supports large scale programs/events which meet the needs of youth membership, including school break programs, college preparedness programs, and other older youth programming to support member retention.
Coordinate with the Membership engagement team to assess resources of the community, the needs of girls, and ensure access to programs which engage new members.
Works with the marketing and communications team to effectively market program opportunities to internal and external audiences through appropriate and timely requests.
Adhere to budgets and post-event reports for assigned program activities.
Utilize Doubleknot and gsEvents systems regularly to build and maintain programs.
Contribute to the events calendar, social media, website or other resources and publications as assigned.
Ensure the measurement of outcomes to assist in quality improvement and effective marketing of the Girl Scout brand.
Serves as SUCC for the travel troop cookie program and facilitates other money earning activities to support travel Answers, problem-solves, manages and responds appropriately to all inquiries including but not limited to email, phone and walk-in customers and optimizes use of technology to support excellent customer service for members.
Establish positive working relationships with staff in departments necessary to gather information to meet volunteer, donor, and other constituent requirements.
Attend other meetings as appropriate with managers, directors, volunteers, service centers, etc.
Works productively with a diverse group of people.
Subscribes to tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.
Other related duties as requested.

Education:
High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree in related field preferred, and/or 4 years of relevant experience.
Required, Specialized, or Technical Knowledge:
One to two years of demonstrated experience working with children in a formal or informal educational setting.
Demonstrated experience creating and implementing lesson plans in a formal or informal setting Must hold or obtain a valid driver's license and US Passport Must have the ability to travel within and outside of Council footprint and country for extended periods of time Excellent verbal and written communication skills to establish clear expectations in a fast-paced setting.
Ability to make independent decisions and ability to interact effectively with staff and volunteers at all levels of the organization.
Ability to employ strict discretion in sensitive situations.
Comfort with uncertainty and ambiguity while being proactive in anticipating and preempting problems.
Represent the council as needed to both internal and external audiences.
Must hold membership in the Girl Scout organization and subscribe to the tenets of the Girl Scout Promise and Law.

Must hold a valid driver's license and insurance and be able to travel the 26 county jurisdiction of the council.

Work Conditions:
Average 50% day-time travel to meetings, cultivation opportunities, and activities.
Evening and weekend work conditions occur regularly through the program year.
Must be able to work a varied and occasionally indeterminate schedule.
There is no substantial exposure to adverse environmental conditions with the exception of weather related travel conditions.
