Summary:
Responsible for working in every aspect of the bowl, smoothie, and food making processes including any additional preparation and clean up.
This individual will work under the direct instruction of management on shift.
The Bowlista is an individual who pays great attention to detail, who helps out other team members in our fast-paced environment with outstanding communication skills, and has a drive to serve their customers with a smile, positive attitude, and individualized personal connection by performing the following duties:
Duties and Responsibilities include the following.
Other duties may be assigned by management 1.
Scrapes food completely out of blenders, off cutting mats and utensils and thoroughly wash them by hand with the use of washing tools such as brushes and sponges, and then places them on the drying rack or designated towel.
2.
Maintains the cleanliness of the caf by sweeping and mopping the caf daily and as needed throughout the day and cleans windowsills.
3.
Clears/wipes down tables and chairs every 30 minutes as per designated timer, and nightly before closing caf .
4.
Takes out the garbage daily and as needed throughout shift.
5.
Makes smoothies specific to customer request and/or recipe.
6.
Makes bowls specific to customer request and/or recipe.
7.
Makes espresso beverages or iced beverages specific to customer request and/or recipe.
8.
Strictly adheres to portioning by using all designated scoops/spoons/other utensils.
9.
Prepares ingredients for blending and follows all food handling, allergy, and safety requirements.
10.
Follows specific recipes and sequencing instructions to prepare menu items using basic kitchen equipment, blenders, and preparatory utensils.
11.
Retrieves ingredients from appropriate areas by lifting and carrying to food preparation area.
12.
Communicates shortage of menu items to team member in charge of shift (manager, shift leader, or key holder) immediately.
13.
Prepares food items according to recipes, instructions, sequencing, and customized orders by strictly following all food handling, allergy, and safety requirements.
14.
Hands off prepared food for delivery to customer.
15.
Demonstrates a clear awareness of customer allergies by changing gloves, cleaning preparation area, and changing out all utensils and cutting boards.
16.
Expedites orders that come in from the cashier to the necessary station with ticket included.
17.
Retrieves orders from stations and checks ticket to ensure accuracy before handing order to customer.
18.
Strictly follows Bowl Boss' Triple-Check Method by communicating with team members involved in the preparation of food items before handing order to customer.
19.
Efficiently runs register by taking customer orders in a friendly, patient, and individualized manner.
20.
Has a clear understanding of Bowl Boss' products and effortlessly answers all customers' questions regarding menu items.
21.
Manages orders by keeping them flowing to correct stations and/or expeditor and ensures that customers receive their correct order.
22.
Notates any and all food allergies or intolerances of the customer upon ordering.
23.
Has extensive knowledge of allergens in each menu item and patiently helps ordering customer with decision.
24.
Receives cash transactions and makes correct change without error.
25.
Receives credit card and Apple Pay transactions in accordance with restaurant procedures.
26.
Receives online orders and prepares order according to pickup time.
27.
Greets customers warmly as they arrive and says goodbye and thank you upon exit, even when there is a line.
28.
Understands expiration dates and how to properly rotate fruits, milks, beverages, base tubs and other toppings upon the arrival of a new shipment.
29.
Answers phone by second ring, regardless of opening or closing time.
30.
Adheres to position assigned at beginning of shift, only moving when directed by management.
31.
Understands where pre-orders are placed and prepares food accurately and on time according to ticket.
32.
Strictly adheres to confidentiality agreement and meets all restrictions regarding the disclosure of information to customers and outside parties.
33.
Delivers orders to customers awaiting curbside pickup.
34.
Performs other duties as assigned.

Education/
Experience:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience with a customer service background, or restaurant experience is a plus.
