45 an hour 2 days ago 2 days ago 2 days ago JOB SUMMARY Responsible for clinical education throughout SDMG and assumes managerial responsibilities as assigned under the direct supervision of the Director of Clinical Services.
Provides clinical education and evaluation to clinical staff and providers.
Collaborates with other managers to incorporate clinical processes into clinical workflows to ensure adherence to SDMG quality standards and all related AAAHC standards.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Performs and develops a comprehensive orientation and mentoring program for all clinical staff.
Plans, develops and coordinates continuing in-service education programs within SDMG for all clinical staff.
Covering at least one educational topic per month.
Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices.
Assesses competency, and evaluation of clinical performance; facilitates the appropriate education to correct any short comings.
Plays an active role in interviewing, hiring and assigning of all clinical staff.
Displays clear and concise communication skills, maintains good relations with physician, staff members, and other departments Conducts BLS certification classes for clinical staff and physicians on a monthly basis; conducts ACLS recertification classes on a bi-annual basis for clinical staff and providers.
Reviews contents of codes carts on an annual basis in conjunction with current ACLS Standards.
Assigns annually the clinical staff to perform monthly code cart checks and ensures code carts are up to date.
Collaborates with Department Managers of SDMG to identify and provide education for nursing and interdisciplinary staff in the clinical setting.
Supports the goals of Nursing Administration and works to promote teamwork within SDMG.
Assists with clinical meeting agenda and writing tests or quizzes.
Actively participates and contributes to the development of clinical policies and procedures; provides clinical education on all new policies and procedures prior to their implementation.
Oversees the Vaccine for Children (VFC) program for Family Practice and acts as the VFC Coordinator.
Actively participates in committees within the group as designated by the Director of Clinical Services and/or SDMG Administration.
Plays an active role on the Safety Committee; devises policies and procedures regarding safety issues, updates manuals, etc.
Maintains updated OSHA files on all Slocum Dickson Medical Group Employees, updates OSHA manuals, coordinates annual OSHA in-services to all employees, and OSHA training to all new employees in conjunction with the Director of Clinical Services.
Reports and assists with medical emergencies.
Organizes and presents the new hire and annual OSHA training.
Maintains proficiency in current OSHA standards Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all mandated policies and requirements of regulatory agencies including but not limited to the CDC, OSHA, NYSDOH, and EPA.
Responsible for the development and maintenance of written plans/policies for compliance with regulatory agencies, including OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogen Standard, TB Control Standard, and the CDC Guidelines as published.
Responsible for the annual review of these plans.
Performs other related duties as required.
May be exposed to hazardous drugs.
Attends OSHA training upon initial employee orientation and annually completes an OSHA competency.
RELATIONSHIP WITH OTHERS Direct relationship with physicians and staff.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE Graduate of an accredited school of nursing and current licensure in New York State.
Thorough and understanding of clinical protocol, procedures, and standards, within area of clinical expertise.
Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to staff in areas of specialties.
Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

May require lifting up to 50 pounds using proper body mechanics.
