IT Intern Software Developer

Position Summary:

Responsible for independent program analysis and application development within assigned systems as well as planning, organizing and coordinating the work of application programmers along with reviewing and evaluating their work product. Must have knowledge of interfaces and integration and will be expected to produce high quality deliverables on time and within budget.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Deliver high quality deliverables that meet user requirements, on time and within budget.

2. Review system requirements and specifications prior to development for completeness and conformance to standards.

3. Create technical programming specifications when necessary.

4. Enforce analysis, programming and testing standards for all staff.

5. Perform programming and unit testing according to established standards and based on specifications.

6. Perform scheduled and adhoc code reviews of both internal and contract staff.

7. Maintain documentation and act as a source of knowledge to all programming staff.

8. Act as an informational resource for all projects and requests.

9. Maintain technical knowledge of assigned systems.

10. Identify opportunities for process and efficiency improvements and recommend action.

11. Perform other tasks as required.

Education:

Junior, Senior or Grad Student in Computer Science or Information Systems, or equivalent experience.

Experience/ Desired Skills

0 - 2 Years experience in the following technologies, dependent on assigned systems: IMS VSAM COBOL/CICS Java . NET XML Duck Creek Technologies Oracle Tools Proprietary development technologies SQL/Oracle Databases C#

Skills

Technical, Analytical, Mathematical, Logical, Insurance industry familiarity with corporate level computer systems, Knowledge of Business Analysis and quality Assurance techniques and software tools including work-flow, requirements documentation, project management and testing.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
