We're big enough to offer the opportunities you need to be successful, but not so big that you'll get lost in the crowd.   Job Description:   Mainframe Generalist who will work with software related to all parts of the z/OS systems, including 3rd party (OEM) software, z/OS itself, CICS, IMS, MQ, TCPIP, & storage systems.  Additional skills in capacity & performance - RMF, SMF, WLM, monitoring tools would be beneficial.  Designs, implements, integrates and supports a variety of mainframe, mid-frame and operating systems ancillary software products.   Job Responsibilities: 1. Implement new systems software and modifications without adverse effects on current production or testing. 2. Assist with management and monitoring of installed systems and infrastructure 3. Proactively ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability 4. Monitor and test application performance for potential bottlenecks, identify possible solutions, and work withdevelopers to implement those fixes 5. Maintain security, backup, and redundancy strategies. 6. Prepare material for Systems Analysts, Programmers and Operations personnel that describes effects and new requirements resulting from changes to system software. 7. Provide 2nd and 3rd level support 8. Liaise with vendors and other IT personnel for problem resolution 9. Provide technical guidance and support to application development staff. 10. Define and enforce appropriate technical standards and procedures. 11. Perform other duties as assigned.   Technical Competencies: IT Standards, Procedures & Policies Knowledge of and ability to utilize a variety of skill sets and technical knowledge to support organizational IT policies, standards, and procedures.  Participate in the implementation of IT standards and procedures in IT projects or services. Collaborates on development of templates for IT standards and procedures for technical business plans.  Evaluates the effectiveness of IT policies through professional group discussions. Consults on key issues and challenges of internal and external IT businesses. Compares and contrasts benefits and risks of internal and external IT services.  Monitors and coordinates preventive and scheduled IT business models. Application Delivery Process Knowledge of and ability to utilize major tasks, deliverables, and formal application delivery methodologies to deliver new or enhanced applications. Performs all major development and delivery phases and activities.  Contrasts the benefits, drawbacks and appropriateness of different methodologies.  Utilizes industry experience and benchmarks to evaluate the effectiveness of methodologies applied during the application delivery process. IT Project Planning and Organization Knowledge of and ability to utilize a variety of specific tools and techniques for planning, estimating, resourcing and scheduling IT projects.  Optimizes the IT project plan using the critical path method to ensure the completion of the project. Collaborates with the project administration office to allocate resources in IT project portfolios. Consults on tracking techniques for project progress; reports project status to optimize the IT project scheduling.  Evaluates the effectiveness of IT project lifecycle implementation through professional group discussions.   Requirements: Minimum of 5 years experiencesupporting IBM mainframe operating system environments Proven experience in administering related software products, including installing maintenance & new releases Demonstrated experience with SMP/E, ServerPac, TSO/ISPF, SMF and RMF Familiarity with/working knowledge of CICS, DB2 and WebSphere MQ Strong customer service and follow-up skills Extensive experienceworking with z/OS, JES2, SMP/E, TSO, VTAM, TCP/IP, major program product installations preferred   BENEFITS: We believe strongly that talented people are core to our success and are attracted to companies that provide competitive pay, comprehensive benefits packages, career advancement and challenging work opportunities. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
